A Priceless Picture

Today I received a stunning - and surprising - image via e-mail from Les Robinson, one of our Central Reunion Committee members. I will "paste" Les's e-mail below so you will know its story...

"Gale,
The 'rendering' as we call it, was found in Mike Downs' Father's house when he came for the Reunion and he brought it to me and said "I don't where it came from but I think it should be in the Central Museum", so I presented it to the committee and Rich Sell said he would frame it and then we'll let Pete give it to the school from Mike and the Class of 65 !!

Here's a picture of it sitting on chairs in my office, Dang, should have taken a better shot !!"

Les, you got a fantastic shot of this beautiful architect's rendering of Central in 1905 - a full 60 years before we graduated. So it took another 45 years for the rendering to make it home to the Central Museum where it truly belongs.

THANK YOU! to Mike Downs for so generously bringing us this wonderful treasure so that all of us Centralites - past and present - may enjoy it.

Below is the picture of the actual rendering that I received from Les. I couldn't resist "dolling it up" a bit via Photoshop, which is the image you see at the top. I think we can all agree - we went to one heck of a beautiful high school!
